Emma Raducanu enters Australian Open 2024

Emma Raducanu entered the Australian Open 2024 main draw after Lauren Davis withdrew from the tournament due to a shoulder injury.

– She defeated Romania's Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 in the Round of 32 match on Tuesday, January 2.

– Raducanu will next be up against Ukraine's Elina Svitolina in the second round.

– Raducanu is the only qualifier to win a Grand Slam when she triumphed in the US Open 2023.

– She admitted that she had to face challenges while being out of the sport for around eight months.

– Raducanu said she is grateful to be healthy and able to move her body.

– She is happy to be back on the tour and is looking forward to starting the season injury-free and healthy.
